About Author
Deepika Volquardsen is the author of Nimbu Paani. Originally from Hyderabad, India, she eventually moved to the US to pursue her higher education.
She now works as a data engineer for a major US company. When she's not working or writing children's books, she's spending time with her husband and two children. Her oldest child was the inspiration for Nimbu Paani.
Deepika's four year old would ask her why she couldn't find more books featuring an Indian child ( browned skinned with a bindi (dot)) she could better relate to. With that innocent question presented before her, Deepika set out to answer it.
We all do remember our childhood summer time that we spent at our Grand parents who used to make the evenings more sweet by making Nimbu Paani which quenched our thirsts after a long day of play in the hot sun. In order to have our kids re-live those memories she wrote this book with beautiful illustrations.
